About Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple

A unique deity who combines Shiva and Vishnu in one form, worshipped as Muthappan — a folk hunter deity. The temple is open to people of all castes and religions. Theyyam (ritual dance) performances are offered daily as worship — unlike anywhere else in Kerala where Theyyam is seasonal. Fish and toddy (coconut wine) are offered as prasadam — completely unique in Hindu temple tradition.
